Old Navy
Everyone who owns my book, please go to the section listing Old Navy and cross out the A they got and give them a D. I have heard from the fashion grapevine that Old Navy will no longer be carrying Plus sizes in their stores.
This makes me pretty mad. When the book was nearly finished, Old Navy announced they would be carrying plus sizes in their stores. Small to begin with and then expanding. So my editor uped their grade from a C+ to an A. I love Old Navy's stuff as I think of them as causal and cool.
Then after the book came out I then learned Old Navy would only be carrying them in selected stores. Now I find out they won't be carrying it at all giving the reason they weren't selling.
Hey Marketing morons get a clue, first fat chicks need to KNOW you are selling plus sizes, then you actually need to have them AVAILABLE.
I won't be buying from Old Navy anymore. And guess what it isn't just accessories I won't be buying, I actually can wear some of Old Navy's stuff. You might carry my size but not my bigger sisters.
Call 1-800-Old-Navy or e-mail custserv@oldnavy.com . I'm working on my e-mail as soon as I finish this post.
We're up in arms about this over at Big Fat Deal, too. (Our discussion is here: http://www.bfdblog.com/?p=54) Thanks for the info; I'll definitely be working on my letter too.

I won't be shopping at old navy any more ether, but i think it's just going to serve to reinforce the thinking behind their decision. In protest of their decision, many plus size people will not be buying from them & I’m afraid they’re just going to see it as confirmation that plus size people don't buy from them in the first place.

Old Navy is opening a store here in Moscow and I was looking forward to another source of inexpensive shirts and tops, but they are never going to see me set foot inside their door. I'll spend the money instead at Shopko, who at least has a decent plus sized section at both their Pullman and Lewiston stores.
